2027 Graduate recruitment
METIER3 has a long history of employing and developing recent graduates. We take between two and four graduates in each intake, and we build the roles around an important professional step - architectural registration, which while not essential is strongly recommended as a key milestone in your career.
What the Program provides
You work on live projects across our sectors - workplace, data centres, education, hospitality and residential - inside a studio where graduates sit with and learn directly from experienced/registered architects.
Graduates who perform well and demonstrate their passion, creativity and contribution to our office are appointed to permanent roles within six months of commencement.
Our registration pathway is structured and funded: paid time off to study and prepare for the registration process, fully reimbursable (successful) exam and interview costs, and a salary increase from the day of registration.
The 2027 intake
Applications for our 2027 intake are open from 1 October 2026 until 15 November 2026 unless closed earlier at our discretion.
We expect interviews will be held in November for commencement in January 2027.
What we look for
Graduation from a recognised Australian tertiary design school in 2025 or 2026 and no more than 12 months professional work experience - direct from university with no architectural experience is fine, too.
Strong Revit skills - an online Revit assessment is part of our process - we work in BIM on every project. You are strongly encouraged to supplement your existing Revit competency before interview - there are plenty of online resources to assist.
Australian permanent residency or equivalent full-time work rights. We do not offer visa sponsorship or temporary roles.
How to apply
Send us your CV and current portfolio including some of your academic work to m3employment2026 AT metier3 DOT com DOT au
Include a cover letter and one of the following:
A) a short essay (no more than 500 words) describing your final year project;
B) a short essay (no more than 500 words) on an architect/designer who you admire or aspire to emulate or are inspired by, and why;
C) a brief critique (no more than 500 words) on any METIER3 project on this site; OR
D) a 90 second video introducing yourself and why you chose architecture as a profession.
If more appropriate, send us a link to the application material and be sure the link is working and clearly identified in your cover letter.
We read everything received that complies with that criteria and will shortlist applicants accordingly. However, we may only contact short listed applicants.
We do not consider applications that appear to be "mass produced" or fail to respond to the above criteria.
Candidates who progress after initial screening of their application will be asked to attend an interview at our office in East Melbourne. We may conduct an interview via Teams/Zoom if necessary however we prefer a face to face meeting.
Candidates who impress us at interview and are complementary to the other graduate candidates, can expect to be offered a role with a commencement date (exact date to be agreed) in January 2027.
We look forward to hearing from you.
